Mahaday (KAAB TV) – Danab Special Forces have launched a series of operations targeting Al-Shabaab in several areas within Mahaday district, located in Somalia’s Middle Shabelle region, over the past few hours.
The mission aimed to secure Mahaday town and its surrounding villages. It was led by the deputy commander of the 164th Division, Brigadier General Dahir Hussein Jimale, also known as Kabayare.
The operations were carried out in the villages of Adalow, Burfule, and Burane—areas under the jurisdiction of Mahaday district. No casualties were reported during the operations.
Speaking to residents of the villages, Brigadier General Kabayare urged the local communities to collaborate with government forces to help ensure long-term security and to resist the influence and threats posed by Al-Shabaab.
These operations come at a time when Al-Shabaab continues to control significant parts of the Middle Shabelle region. The federal government has announced renewed efforts to reclaim territory still under militant control.
