Aalimiskaad (KAAB TV) – Secret letters discovered in areas recently cleared of Daesh in the Aalimiskaad mountains have revealed troubling information. The documents indicate that wounded Daesh members were receiving medical treatment at hospitals in Hargeisa.
Additionally, the letters show that commercial companies were involved in shipping goods to Daesh, while others received payments from the group.
In response, security agencies have launched investigations, but have temporarily withheld the names of the suspected hospitals and businesses involved.
Puntland has previously accused Somaliland of supporting ISIS and Al-Shabaab within its territories. Recently, Puntland forces discovered Somaliland shillings in areas liberated from Daesh, further fueling suspicions of a link between the group and Somaliland.
In light of these developments, the president of Puntland has vowed to target anyone connected to Daesh, stating that the third phase of Operation Lightning will specifically target individuals and businesses engaged with the terrorist group.
