Residents of Hawaadley District Face Severe Hardships

|

Hawaadley (Kaab TV) – Residents living in the villages of Jameeco and Nabaaxiga in Xawaadley District are facing extremely difficult living conditions after being displaced from their homes due to fighting that took place in the area.

The displaced civilians have fled to villages located to the north, outside Xawaadley District. Some of the people we contacted said they are experiencing a severe health crisis, especially among children who are suffering from illnesses including acute watery diarrhea and malnutrition.

The displaced families are also facing urgent needs for shelter, clean drinking water, food, and medical services, while no sufficient humanitarian assistance has yet reached them. Local residents have called on humanitarian organizations and the government to urgently deliver humanitarian aid to save the lives of the affected people.

So far, the Somali federal government has not taken any action to assist the people living in areas under Xawaadley District in the Middle Shabelle region.
