Baidoa (Kaab TV) – The Command of the Special Police Forces of South West State has issued a security warning to residents living in Baidoa and other areas under the administration, urging them to avoid locations designated for the upcoming elections as well as areas where security forces are stationed.
In a press statement released yesterday, the command stated that the measure is intended to protect civilian safety, as some locations are considered potential security risk areas.
The command also called on the public to remain highly vigilant and to limit movement toward election venues and military positions until further notice.
The warning comes as local council and representative elections are officially expected to begin on Sunday across South West State.
The elections are taking place amid ongoing political tensions and growing concerns over the security situation in the region.
