Somaliland Forces Clash SSC-Khaatumo in Guumeys

|

HARGEISA (KAAB TV) – A battle between the forces of the Somaliland and those of the Khatumo administration took place yesterday afternoon in the areas where the two armies are facing each other in the Sool region, and the war resulted in many losses.

The clashes took place in the area called Guumeys in the Oog area of the Sool region on Sunday, according to locals.

The two forces of Somaliland and Khatumo exchanged different types of weapons.

Casualties reported within the two warring sides.

Somaliland officials in the area accused the SSC-Khaatumo of attacking Guumeys.

However, SSC-Khaatumo officials say their positions were attacked.

There are no independent sources yet.

The situation in the area where the war took place this morning (Monday) was reported to be calm, and the area is still facing the two opposing forces, which may fight again at any time.

However, the armed forces of the SSC-Khatumo and Somaliland administrations are facing each other in the Sool and Sanaag regions.

The forces have frequently clashed, resulting in casualties and injuries.

The conflict between SSC-Khaatumo and Somaliland is rooted in long-standing territorial disputes and political tensions in the Sool and Sanaag regions, which are located in northern Somalia.

Historically, these areas have been claimed by both Somaliland and Puntland, with each group asserting territorial control over the region.

The SSC-Khaatumo movement, representing the Sool, Sanaag, and Ceyn (SSC) clans, emerged in the 2000s as a response to the growing influence of Somaliland in the region.
