Kampala (KAAB TV) – Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the son of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, has announced his resignation from his post X, while posting controversial messages.
Also, the 50-year-old Ugandan army general has become heavily involved in the political arena, breaking military rule and rekindling discussions about his desire to succeed his father, who has been in power since 1986.
It was recently when there was outrage over a tweet he posted on his Twitter account in which he threatened to cut the neck of the opposition leader in the country, Bobi Wine.
In his latest tweet on Friday, General Kainerugaba said it was “time to step down and concentrate” on his military duties but promised to “come back” to his one million supporters in the future.
It is not the first time that General Kaineruga has suspended his X account, he has suspended the publication of his posts on his X site several times in the past.
In 2022, he left the platform where only articles were published but returned a few days later.
However, critics blamed the general for his comments on social media, which touched on sensitive topics that should not be discussed by an army officer.
