|

Mogadishu (Kaab TV) – A joint military operation in Mudug region has resulted the Galmudug Darawish and the Danab forces to seize Donyaale, a rural village under Wisil district previously controlled by Al-Shabaab, the local security officials said on Saturday.

“Al-Shabaab militants dug large trenches in this rural area but after hours of intense gun fight, they were over-powered,” the security officials in Galmudug said.

There are details of a serious battle that took place on Friday afternoon in the south of Mudug region, where the Galmudug forces backed by the U.S-trained Danab attacked the bases of the militant group.

Local officials said drones took part in the fight to force Al-Shabaab to vacate their positions in that area.

Despite the communication in the area remains very poor, official sources are claiming that the militant group has been defeated.
