Mogadishu (Kaab TV) – Somalia’s Federal Minister of Interior, Ali Yusuf Ali Hosh, has commented on the Puntland delegation that took part in the May 18 Somaliland anniversary celebrations.
Minister Ali Hosh appeared to indirectly criticize Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni, stating that no political support or electoral advantage can be gained by backing Somaliland’s cause, suggesting that the matter may be linked to election campaigning.
He also emphasized that political success cannot be achieved by undermining the political aspirations of the people of the northeastern regions.
“No one can achieve political success, nor gain Somali political support, by exaggerating Somalia’s division and undermining the political aspirations of the people of the northeastern regions,” said Ali Hosh.
A traditional delegation led by Yasin Muse Boqor participated in the May 18 celebrations and stated that they respect Somaliland’s existence and that Puntland supports Somaliland’s cause.
This marked the first time a delegation from Puntland had traveled to Hargeisa to participate in the annual May 18 Somaliland celebrations.
