Mogadishu (Kaab TV) – Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni spoke about the unsuccessful talks between the Future Council and former president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, which ended without any agreement despite mediation efforts led by the United States and the United Kingdom among others.
President Deni stated that the Future Council had made significant compromises, but claimed that Hassan Sheikh was unwilling to cooperate or make progress.
He also noted that the ambassadors of the United States and the United Kingdom walked out of the ongoing meeting today after realizing that no meaningful outcome would be achieved.
The Puntland leader accused Hassan Sheikh of leading the country toward instability and said that action must be taken to stop him.
President Deni made these remarks during a gathering organized by the Future Council to commemorate Somalia’s Youth Day on May 15. The event was held at Jazeera Hotel in Mogadishu.
