Major Roads in Mogadishu Closed on Friday Morning

|

MOGADISHU (Kaab TV) – Residents of Mogadishu woke up this morning to the closure of several major roads in the city. Reports indicate that a high-level delegation led by the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs is expected to arrive in Mogadishu.

Security forces reportedly closed Maka Al-Mukarama Road late last night. Public transport vehicles and Bajaj motorcycles have been barred from using the road, and at times even pedestrians are not allowed to pass through on foot.

In addition, large sections of Wadnaha Road in Mogadishu remain closed. Public transport vehicles are unable to cross the intersections along this road, and residents say the situation has become an increasing hardship.

“Honestly, we the Somali people living in Mogadishu are facing serious difficulties. Roads are being closed without clear purpose or direction. This is not a solution. The government needs to come up with a clear plan,” said one Mogadishu resident.

Many people can be seen walking long distances along some roads in Mogadishu, expressing concern over the current situation in the Somali capital.
