Hargeisa (Kaab TV) – Somaliland has informed the Republic of Djibouti that it has suspended Air Djibouti flights from operating within its territory, following the Djiboutian government’s stance among countries opposing the recognition of Israel under President Ismail Omar Guelleh.
The Somaliland administration reportedly sent a letter to Air Djibouti, although it has not been officially released to the public. However, officials from the Civil Aviation Authority are expected to address the media regarding the matter.
The flight suspension is set to take effect tomorrow, Wednesday, January 7, 2026. From that date onward, all regular Air Djibouti flights will be completely halted, according to reports.
So far, no statement has been issued by the Republic of Djibouti or by the management of the airline whose flights have been suspended, clarifying the contents of the letter or the combined travel ban order. A response from their side is still awaited.
