Mogadishu (KAAB TV) – Kaab TV reports that some of the large vehicles who carry many goods in and out of the capital have serious issues while passing Mogadishu roads.
Earlier today, protesters blocked the Hoosh road leading to the Ex-Control Afgooye intersection, where armed militias recently set up checkpoints to demand money from passing traffic.
The demonstrators, mainly operators and drivers of heavy vehicles, said they were protesting against extortion carried out by Somali government troops stationed at the checkpoints.
The Governor of Banadir Region spoke to the people who blocked the road, saying that the issue will be resolved and requested that the road be opened.
