KISMAYO (KAAB TV) – The Jubbaland administration has firmly rejected the outcomes of the National Consultative Council (NCC) meeting held in Mogadishu, asserting that the decisions made hold no relevance to the situation in Jubbaland.
Abdifitah Mohamed Mukhtar, Jubbaland’s Minister of Information, stated that the resolutions passed at the conference did not offer anything of significance and will not change the current circumstances in Jubbaland.
The National Consultative Council, which concluded its meeting last night, called on the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs to issue legal advice concerning the situation in Jubbaland, with the aim of establishing a state with full legitimacy.
This declaration has sparked strong reactions across the political spectrum, with many politicians accusing the Federal Government of attempting to dismantle the Jubbaland administration and replace it with an alternative one.
Abdiladief Sanyare, a member of the Somali Parliament, sharply criticized the Federal Government, accusing it of politically invading Jubbaland.
“The state government of Jubbaland needs real preparation. There is an invasion coming from the Federal Government, which has clearly deviated from the path of governance. This is a threat to the unity and solidarity of the country and is undermining the federal system,” said MP Sanyare.
In response, Jubbaland has officially announced that it is suspending cooperation with the Federal Government, accusing it of operating like a private entity limited to the Banadir Region.
Jubbaland’s President, Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Ahmed Madobe), emphasized that any decisions made by the Federal Government will have no impact on the existence of Jubbaland.
