Lower Shabelle (KAAB TV) – The Somali National Army (SNA) has successfully conducted a military operation targeting Al-Shabaab leadership in the Lower Shabelle region, resulting in the elimination of key militants and the destruction of their base.
According to Somali National Media, the operation was carried out in the Madulow area by the 26th Unit of the 6th Brigade, which is part of the SNA’s 60th Division.
Military officials confirmed that the operation led to the deaths of two senior Al-Shabaab figures, identified as Hassan Bid and Abdullahi Garweyne. Their hideout was also destroyed during the raid.
Major Farah Hirsi Abdule, Commander of the 26th Unit, stated in an interview with National Media that efforts to eradicate Al-Shabaab from the region will continue and intensify.
This operation is part of an ongoing military campaign in the Shabelle regions, where Somali forces have been actively pursuing Al-Shabaab fighters and dismantling their strongholds.
