Garowe (KAAB TV) – The Ministry of Security of the Puntland administration has issued a statement firmly denying the authenticity of a letter circulating on social media, which alleged that the government had suspended the salaries of Puntland forces stationed on the front lines in the SSC-Khatumo region, particularly around the Tukaraq area.
The Ministry clarified that the letter, which bears the reference number XW/MOS/DDR/PL/059 and is dated April 14, 2025, is completely fake. It emphasized that the letter did not originate from the Minister’s office and has no connection to the official policies or decisions of the Puntland administration.
“The Puntland Ministry of Security hereby declares that the letter identified as XW/MOS/DDR/PL/059, which purports to suspend the salaries of troops in Tukaraq and SSC-Khatumo, is entirely fabricated. It did not come from the office of the Minister of Security,” the official statement read.
The Ministry has also announced that appropriate legal action will be taken against those responsible for creating and spreading the falsified document.
