Trump Suspended The Tariffs Imposed on Mexico & Canada For 30 Days

|

New York (KAAB TV) – The re-elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, on Monday postponed a 25% tariff on Canadian and Mexican goods imported into the United States.

The postponement of taxes imposed on Mexico and Canada came after President Trump spoke on the phone with the president of Mexico, a woman named Claudia Sheinbaum and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Trump said in a press release that he was happy with the preliminary results of this issue, and that the tariffs were suspended for 30 days to see if an economic agreement could be reached. Finally, he enters Canada and Mexico.

Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau also said that Canada will deploy troops and new technological equipment to its border with the United States to stop the flow of the fentanyl drug.

He said that he spoke to President Trump on the phone, “The proposed tax has been suspended for a period of 30 days, while we continue our cooperation.” Trudeau said.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said that the Mexican border with the United States will deploy up to 10,000 military personnel to control the deadly drug called fentanyl, which enters the United States from the Mexican side.

She also mentioned that the United States government has promised to do something to stop the high-powered weapons being sent to Mexico.

She added that the leaders of the two countries will continue their talks on security and trade, while the tax issue will be suspended for a month.

Even if President Trump suspended the tariffs he imposed on Mexico and Canada, there is still no change in the tariffs imposed by Trump on the goods imported from China to the United States.
