MOGADISHU (Kaab TV) – The Federal Government has begun meetings to find solutions for controlling the drought affecting parts of the country. Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has, over the past few days, met with various representatives interested in participating in these efforts.
Hamza Abdi Barre held a special session with ambassadors from China, Russia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and representatives from various humanitarian organizations to involve them in providing aid to people affected by the drought.
The representatives, for their part, pledged to focus on sending urgent humanitarian assistance to Somalia so that the government can distribute it to those in need.
Southern, central, and northern regions of Somalia are experiencing droughts that have severely impacted both people and livestock, causing some families to leave their homes in search of areas less affected by the crisis.
