KISMAYO (Kaab TV) – Today, various leaders arrived in the city of Kismayo, where they were welcomed at the airport. They are attending a conference scheduled to open today in the city.
The conference organizers noted that this meeting follows earlier calls made by opposition leaders regarding inclusive political dialogue and consultation.
During the conference, participants are expected to present their political agendas and clarify their demands to the Federal Government.
The main discussions will focus specifically on electoral matters, at a time when the government is implementing local council elections based on a “one person, one vote” system.
The Kismayo conference is attended by a diverse group, including members of civil society, federal parliamentarians, and former senior government officials. The event has also invited former Somali President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, former prime ministers, and other prominent politicians.
The conference is scheduled to conclude on Saturday, with a joint communiqué expected to outline the agreements reached and the recommendations proposed by the opposition.
