Two Civilians Killed in Garowe Armed Attack Near Government Offices

|

GAROWE (KAAB TV) – Two civilians were shot and killed by an armed group in Garowe, the capital of Puntland, around midnight last night.

One of the victims was a hotel security guard, while the other was a civilian reported to be a relative of the guard.

According to hotel management, the attackers shot both men in the head and back before fleeing the scene. The incident occurred near key government buildings, including the Nugal Regional Court and the offices of the regional administration.

Puntland police have not yet apprehended the perpetrators but confirmed that an investigation is underway and efforts to track down the group are ongoing.

Relatives of the victims have reportedly refused to bury the bodies until the government identifies and arrests those responsible.

Garowe, typically known for its stability and safety, has rarely experienced killings of this nature. Previous violent incidents in the city have mostly been linked to drug-related activities, making this targeted attack particularly alarming to the public.
