Mogadishu (KAAB TV) – The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ali Omar Balcad, has announced that the Somali Ambassador to Ethiopia will henceforth give priority to the affairs of Ethiopia and the African Union.
Initially, Somalia focused on the African Union. However, the continuation of the Ambassador will work to strengthen the relationship between Mogadishu and Addis Ababa, according to Minister Ali Balcad.
“The Somali ambassador in Addis Ababa, who previously focused on African Union issues, will now focus on Ethiopian issues. His efforts will be aimed at strengthening the relationship between the two countries,” said Minister Balcad.
He also mentioned that there are ongoing discussions to balance the new support operations of the African Union in Somalia (AUSSOM), especially the participation of the troops of the member countries.
Minister Balcad announced that on Wednesday, January 15, a delegation from the Federal Government of Somalia will go to the cities of Addis Ababa and Cairo to discuss with the governments, among other things, the funds needed by AUSSOM forces.
