The Police In Italy Started Operations To Fight The Cosa Nostra Mafia

Palermo (KAAB TV) – The Italian police have launched a large-scale operation to clean up the Sicilian Mafia in the city of Palermo, issuing arrest warrants for 183 people linked to the Cosa Nostra groups.

About 1,200 soldiers are carrying out this operation, which is part of this operation and has spread to other cities in the country, according to a press release from the Palermo police.

Those arrested are accused of crimes such as involvement in a Mafia-type criminal organization, attempted murder, extortion, drug trafficking, and illegal gambling.

The press release also stated that the operation aims to destroy the Mafia networks in the city of Palermo and its surroundings.

The investigation showed the extent of the drug trade in the Mafia, and how the leaders send orders inside the prisons using secret mobile phones, according to the Corriere della Sera newspaper.

The group, the ‘Ndrangheta is considered the richest and most powerful Mafia in Italy, being heavily involved in the drug trade, especially the management of most of the cocaine that enters Europe.
