MOGADISHU (Kaab TV) – Saudi Arabia executed Mohamed Nur Hussein, a Somali citizen who was accused of illegally importing hashish into the country.
The death sentence, which was carried out in the southern Saudi city of Najran, was widely criticized, and relatives of the deceased said he was not given full legal rights, including access to a defense lawyer and the opportunity to appeal the verdict.
Saudi Arabia has dramatically increased the number of death sentences, especially those related to drug crimes.
According to Amnesty International, in 2024, the country carried out 198 executions, the highest number recorded in years.
Saudi Arabia keeps the people they arrest in strict prisons, and it is very rare that the accused people get full justice and can defend themselves against the charges against them.
