MOGADISHU (KAAB TV) – Tension is mounting tonight in the Dayniile district of the Banadir region, amid growing concerns that government forces may soon begin forcibly evicting residents from parts of the area.
Local sources report that fear and anxiety have gripped the community following rumors of imminent displacement. Residents have reportedly resisted evacuation efforts, and according to eyewitnesses, a local civilian has been shot, further escalating the already volatile situation.
The unrest appears to have intensified after heavily armed troops, allegedly acting on orders from Somali MP Jafar, took up strategic positions in the area.
These forces have reportedly occupied multi-story buildings surrounding the neighborhoods slated for demolition. Unconfirmed reports also suggest the presence of Major General Geylac alongside militia loyal to him, though details remain murky and unverified.
MP Jafar is currently believed to be in Nairobi, Kenya, but sources allege that he has directed his private security forces and weapons—stationed at his residence—to be redeployed to Dayniile to defend what he considers his territory or interests.
As of now, senior Somali government officials have not issued any public statements regarding the situation.
However, there are growing concerns and speculation that certain high-ranking figures within the government may be complicit in the planned displacement of residents from key areas of Mogadishu, including Dayniile.
The unfolding events have sparked fears of potential clashes between civilians and security forces, further destabilizing a district already marked by social and political tensions. Community leaders are urging dialogue and transparency to prevent further violence and displacement.
