Addis Ababa (KAAB TV) – Military activity is intensifying along the border between Ethiopia and Eritrea, raising fears of a potential outbreak of war. Both nations are making significant military preparations, with Eritrea reportedly deploying six troops to its border with Ethiopia, while Ethiopia is bolstering its own military presence.
Meanwhile, Eritrea’s Reserve Forces have been put on high alert, and there is mounting tension on the Ethiopian side, where concerns about potential conflict are rising.
Ethiopia is increasingly relying on drones for defense, even though Eritrea itself possesses warplanes, including drones. While Ethiopia has a larger ground force, Eritrea is considered stronger in the event of a war, thanks to its greater experience and training.
Ethiopia’s political landscape is divided, with opposition forces in Tigray and Amhara regions voicing dissent. The once-close relationship between the two nations began to deteriorate after Ethiopia signed a peace agreement with Tigray’s forces to end their long-running conflict.
Eritrea, which has a history of hostility toward Tigray, supported Ethiopian forces during the war but was angered by the peace agreement, claiming it was made without consultation. This has further strained the relationship between Ethiopia and Eritrea, escalating tensions in the region.
