MOGADISHU (Kaab TV) – Mogadishu is once again facing another day of unrest after residents of the Heliwaa district protested alleged land grabbing reportedly carried out by a group linked to the government of Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. Heavy gunfire was opened by members of the military and police forces.
Local residents told Kaab TV that civilians were struck by the gunfire. Injuries have been reported, and there are fears that fatalities may have occurred.
The incident follows violent clashes that took place yesterday, which were blamed on government security forces suspected of being involved in the alleged land-seizure plan.
