MOGADISHU (Kaab TV) – The United States has issued its highest-level travel advisory, Level 4 “Do Not Travel,” applying to more than 20 countries, including Somalia, due to extremely serious security risks, according to the U.S. Department of State.

This level—the highest in the four-tier travel advisory system—is issued in situations involving life-threatening dangers and where the ability of U.S. embassies to assist their citizens is limited or may be impossible.

The State Department has urged U.S. citizens currently in these countries to leave as soon as it is safely possible.

The warning comes amid growing concerns over armed conflict, terrorist activities, civil unrest, widespread crime, and poor public services, all of which can endanger travelers’ safety and limit a government’s capacity to respond to emergencies.

The United States stated that these conditions severely undermine overall security and make it difficult to deliver emergency assistance to citizens in the affected countries.

This announcement comes shortly after the U.S. released a list of at least 30 countries whose citizens are banned from entering the United States, citing threats to national security.
