Local residents told Kaab TV that strikes were carried out in the city of Baidoa, which serves as the seat of the administration led by Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur Madoobe.

As of now, the identity of those who executed the bombardment and the extent of the resulting casualties or damage remain unknown, while city residents express fear regarding the security situation.

Meanwhile, forces loyal to Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed ‘Laftagareen’ were reportedly said to have taken control of Buurhakaba district in the Bay region at dawn this morning, following military movements in the area.

Buurhakaba is a crucial town situated in the Bay region, playing a vital role in vehicular transit and troop movements between Baidoa and other localities.

The town also holds particular significance in the ongoing political and military conflict in South West State, as it was the starting point of the armed operation that reportedly ousted the Laftagareen administration from Baidoa at the end of March this year.

These new troop movements and the bombardment reported in Baidoa come amidst escalating tension between factions competing for the leadership of the South West administration.

So far, there are no official details regarding casualties or damage caused by the bombardment in Baidoa and the fighting in Buurhakaba. Furthermore, the identity of those behind the attack on the city of Baidoa has not been confirmed.

The situation in both cities still requires monitoring and additional information, as official updates are awaited regarding current developments and the measures to be taken by the competing factions in the region.
