U.S. and Allies Bolster Military Campaign Against Houthis in Yemen

JEDDAH (KAAB TV) – In certain regions of Yemen, a renewed military campaign is being orchestrated by the United States, in coordination with its Arab allies, to weaken and ultimately dismantle the Houthi movement, which currently controls significant portions of the country.

The U.S. and several allied Arab states continue to back Yemen’s internationally recognized but weakened government. In a major escalation, the recognized government has reportedly mobilized a force of up to 80,000 troops for a large-scale offensive targeting key strategic cities under Houthi control.

These forces are expected to receive multifaceted support from the United States, including logistical, intelligence, and possibly direct military assistance. Although prior airstrikes by the U.S. and its allies have targeted Houthi positions, they have so far had limited impact on the group’s capabilities.

Despite the mounting preparations for an offensive, reports indicate that Saudi Arabia has declined to participate in the planned invasion of Hodeidah, a critical port city currently held by the Houthis.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Visit Jeddah for Talks on Ukraine Conflict

Jeddah (KAAB TV) – US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is scheduled to arrive in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Monday to initiate discussions between the United States and Ukraine. The visit is part of the Donald Trump administration’s ongoing efforts to mediate an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine.

According to the US Department of State, Rubio emphasized President Trump’s commitment to ending the conflict as quickly as possible. He stressed the need for all parties involved to take meaningful steps toward achieving lasting peace. This was confirmed in a phone call on Friday with Andrii Sybiha, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister.

In parallel, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to arrive in Saudi Arabia today, where he will meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Upon his return to Ukraine, Zelenskyy will be accompanied by a high-level Ukrainian delegation, led by Andriy Yermak, Director of the Ukrainian Presidency. This delegation will include Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and military commander Pavlo Palisa.

The US delegation, headed by Secretary Rubio, will include National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Trump’s Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff. The two delegations will engage in important talks aimed at furthering peace efforts in the region.
