Participants included Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, Italian Ambassador Pier Mario Daccò Coppi, and senior executives representing major Italian companies and industrial groups.

During the discussions, the former president encouraged Italian investors to explore opportunities in Somalia’s emerging markets, particularly in infrastructure development, energy, fisheries, agriculture, manufacturing, and social services.

He highlighted ongoing national recovery efforts, noting progress in security stabilization, economic reforms, and initiatives aimed at improving the country’s investment climate and regulatory framework.

Italian delegates reportedly expressed strong interest in Somalia’s growing market potential, emphasizing opportunities to revive historical trade links and support sustainable economic development through job creation and private sector investment.

The meeting reflects broader efforts by Somalia to attract international partners as part of its post-conflict reconstruction and long-term economic development strategy.
