NEW YORK, United States (Kaab TV) – President Donald Trump recently blocked an Israeli plan to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to two U.S. officials who spoke to Reuters on Sunday.

“Have the Iranians killed an American yet? No. Until they do, we’re not even discussing targeting their political leadership,” said a senior U.S. administration official familiar with the matter.

The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that senior American and Israeli officials have been in constant communication since Israel launched a major military campaign—Operation Rising Lion—aimed at crippling Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

During those discussions, Israeli officials reportedly informed their American counterparts that they had a clear opportunity to eliminate Khamenei, but Trump overruled the plan.

While the sources did not confirm whether Trump personally delivered the message, they noted that he has been in frequent contact with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

When asked about the Reuters report during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s Special Report with Bret Baier on Sunday, Netanyahu dismissed the story, saying:

“There are so many false reports of conversations that never happened, and I’m not going to get into that.”

He added: “But I can tell you this: we’ll do what we need to do. And I think the United States knows what’s best for the United States.”

Israel–Iran Conflict Intensifies

Since June 13, Israel has conducted massive airstrikes across Tehran and other key Iranian locations, targeting nuclear facilities, missile launchers, the Defense Ministry, and critical energy infrastructure.

The strikes mark the third consecutive day of intense bombardment under Operation Rising Lion.

Iranian officials report at least 224 people killed and 1,481 injured, mostly civilians.

Among the dead are senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commanders, including the IRGC intelligence chief and two high-ranking generals.

In retaliation, Iran has launched multiple waves of ballistic missiles and drones at Israel, including more than 70 overnight strikes.

Some of these breached Israeli air defenses and struck populated areas such as Tel Aviv, Bat Yam, and Haifa.

On the Israeli side, at least 10 to 14 people have been killed, with hundreds injured and extensive damage reported to homes and infrastructure in major cities.

Tel Aviv’s main airport remains closed, further escalating concerns over the widening scope of the conflict.

WASHINGTON (Kaab TV) — U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday reinstated a signature policy from his first term, announcing a sweeping travel ban targeting citizens of 12 countries, including Somalia.

The ban, which takes effect at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, also imposes heightened restrictions on visitors from seven additional nations.

According to the Associated Press, the measure is structured to avoid the airport chaos that erupted in 2017 when a similar ban was introduced with almost no warning.

This time, Trump appears to be on stronger legal footing, following a 2018 Supreme Court decision that upheld his authority to implement such restrictions.

Full ban

The new list of banned countries includes Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. Visitors from Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela will face enhanced screening and visa restrictions.

Trump defended the move by citing concerns over “deficient” vetting systems, a lack of cooperation from some governments in accepting deported citizens, and high visa overstay rates.

His administration relied heavily on a Department of Homeland Security report tracking visa overstays by tourists, students, and business travelers arriving by air or sea.

“We don’t want them,” Trump said bluntly.

Somalia Specifically Targeted

In his official proclamation, Trump claimed that Somalia lacks a competent or cooperative central authority for issuing passports or civil documentation.

Trump asserted that Somalia’s government does not effectively control its territory, which, according to him, limits its ability to ensure national security.

“Somalia stands apart from other countries in the degree to which its government lacks command and control of its territory,” the proclamation reads.

The administration further argued that Somalia continues to harbor a persistent terrorist threat, stating that terrorist groups use Somali territory as a base for planning and launching attacks.

Somalia’s Ambassador to the United States, Dahir Hassan.

“The United States Government has identified Somalia as a terrorist safe haven,” the statement continues. “Somalia also remains a destination for individuals attempting to join terrorist groups that threaten the national security of the United States.”

Trump’s order adds that the Somali government has historically refused to accept back its nationals who are ordered removed from the U.S.

As a result, the proclamation concludes:

“The entry into the United States of nationals of Somalia as immigrants and nonimmigrants is hereby fully suspended.”

In response, Somalia’s Ambassador to the United States, Dahir Hassan, told Reuters:

“Somalia values its enduring relationship with the U.S. and is ready to engage in meaningful dialogue to address concerns.”

The ambassador emphasized Somalia’s commitment to improving bilateral ties and addressing shared security challenges, signaling a diplomatic approach despite the newly imposed restrictions.

Iran (KAAB TV) – Russian state broadcaster RT has reported the discovery of an underground tunnel base in Sudan, allegedly constructed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). According to the report, the facility has 12 separate entrances and is believed to serve military purposes.

Iran was also the first nation to respond to Sudan’s request for military assistance, providing support that included training, drones, and intelligence analysis. This cooperation marked a renewed phase in Iran-Sudan relations, with the two countries restoring diplomatic ties shortly thereafter.

The release of satellite imagery comes at a sensitive time, coinciding with the resumption of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States in Oman. These talks are reportedly fragile, with deep divisions threatening progress. Former U.S. President Donald Trump has issued warnings, stating that should the negotiations collapse, he would consider military action against Iran.

Meanwhile, Israel—long critical of Iran’s regional influence and nuclear ambitions—is closely monitoring developments. It is expected that the suspected base in Sudan could be designated by Israel as a strategic supply hub for Iranian-backed groups in the Middle East, potentially making it a target for future military action.

Tehran (KAAB TV) – The Vice President of Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif, gave an interview and confirmed for the first time that Israel had attached explosives to a gas centrifuge designed to enrich uranium for nuclear production. said when the Iranian police discovered the explosives that had been seized.

Also, he revealed that the sanctions imposed on Iran by the West have forced them not to directly buy uranium enrichment gas and all the materials they need, which causes them to use hands other than the direct source of the materials. He said that Iran would benefit from Israel and then install the explosives.

On the other hand, President Zarif did not say when they discovered the explosives that were used to enrich uranium, citing the act as an attempt to detonate Iran’s nuclear program.

In mid-2021, the former head of Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency, Yossi Cohen, said in an interview that Israel had blown up Iran’s underground nuclear facility in Natanz, an explosion that was said to have resulting from a bomb installed there, revealing that Israel has long been engaged in its attempts to destroy Iran’s nuclear program and is not aware of other operations it has carried out to detonate or damage it deliver.

However, Israel unexpectedly blew up Hezbollah’s communications system late last year after the Mossad planted explosives in Hezbollah’s communications system before it took over the organization.

Tehran (KAAB TV) – Iran never conspired to kill the president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, according to an interview given to NBC News on Tuesday by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, denying the previous claims of Trump and the United States government.

In November, the US Department of Justice indicted an Iranian man in connection with a plot by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards to assassinate the US president-elect. The security forces thwarted the said plan before any attack could be carried out.

Trump also said last year during the US presidential campaign that Iran may have been behind the assassination attempt.

“There is nothing,” Pezeshkian told NBC News, when asked if there was an Iranian plot to kill Trump. “We never tried in the first place, and we never will.”

Trump, who won last year’s US election and will take office on Monday, survived two assassination attempts during the campaign – one in September while playing golf in West Palm Beach, Florida, and another during a rally. show in July in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Investigators found no evidence of Iranian involvement in either case.

Iran has also previously denied US claims of meddling in US affairs, including cyber attacks.
