MOGADISHU (Kaab TV) – The President of the United States, Donald Trump, verbally attacked the Somali community while delivering a speech at the U.S. Congress at United States Capitol. He accused members of the Somali community living in the United States—particularly those in Minnesota—of involvement in corruption.

Speaking before Congress, Trump stated that his administration had launched efforts directly addressing the issue, which he claimed involved Somali residents. He said he had assigned Vice President JD Vance to lead operations aimed at combating fraud and corruption.

Trump emphasized that, in his view, there was no greater example of corruption than what had allegedly occurred in Minnesota. He vowed that his administration would take firm action to address what he described as a serious problem that had tarnished the country’s reputation.

He also announced that his administration would intensify its crackdown on undocumented immigrants, whom he accused of engaging in corruption and hindering the nation’s progress.

In his speech, Trump further claimed that individuals he described as pirates had entered the United States. He alleged that these individuals had stolen large sums of money, calling the matter impossible to ignore.

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, who is of Somali origin and represents Minnesota, reportedly shouted “Liar, liar” and voiced other objections in response to Trump’s accusations against the Somali community in the state.

The Democratic Party accused Trump and his party of targeting a community that has contributed significantly to Minnesota’s economic development and generates substantial revenue for the government. They warned of potential consequences stemming from operations directed at that community.

Trump and Ilhan Omar have frequently clashed, exchanging sharp criticisms of each other’s policies. On several occasions, the U.S. President has been supported by fellow Republican politicians and party members in his disputes with her.
