Hudur (KAAB TV) – Reports from Hudur District in Bakool state reveal that hundreds of people gathered at Dr. Waaberi Football Stadium in Hudur to participate in a prayer for rain, with regional and local officials in attendance.

The Governor of Bakool, Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed, addressed the crowd, urging them to pray for divine intervention to alleviate the suffering of their communities.

Also speaking to the people were the Deputy Commissioner of Security and Politics for the region and the Governor of Hudur, Mohamed Macalin Ahmed. They all joined in prayer, asking for mercy and relief for the people of the region.

The rain-seeking prayer comes at a time when Hudur is grappling with severe drought, extreme heat, and a critical shortage of water. These conditions have deeply affected both the lives of the local population and their livestock.

In recent months, the region has faced an intense drought, causing many people to migrate to Mogadishu or seek refuge in other safer areas.
