The primary focus of the meeting was to finalize a comprehensive cooperation agreement that had previously received approval from the Somali Council of Ministers in July 2025.

The agreement marks a milestone in the growing partnership between Somalia and Turkey, with an emphasis on mutual development goals and capacity building in the labor sector.

Agreement to Promote Employment and Workforce Development

The forthcoming agreement aims to stimulate job creation in Somalia, broaden employment opportunities for Somali youth, and strengthen the country’s institutional capacity in workforce planning and labor administration.

It also emphasizes the development of labor market policies, vocational training systems, and technical cooperation in areas such as social protection and occupational safety.

Once finalized, the official signing ceremony is expected to take place in Turkey in the near future, marking the formal commencement of a multi-year cooperation framework.

Launch of Specialized Training Programs for Somali Labor Officials

A key outcome of the meeting was the joint agreement to launch specialized training and capacity-building programs tailored for Somali labor officials, particularly those working within the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

These programs will leverage Turkey’s vast experience in labor market governance, vocational education, and social welfare management.

By equipping Somali officials with modern tools and training, the initiative is expected to strengthen institutional efficiency, improve service delivery, and contribute to long-term socio-economic development in Somalia.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Minister Yusuf Mohamed expressed his deep appreciation to Minister Işıkhan for the warm hospitality and reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Turkey.

He highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership, stating that it reflects the long-standing brotherly ties and shared vision between the two nations.

“The Federal Government of Somalia sees Turkey not only as a partner but as a true brotherly nation that has consistently stood by us in times of need,” Minister Yusuf said. “This agreement is a reflection of our commitment to building a better future for our people through effective collaboration and mutual respect.”

Minister Işıkhan, for his part, emphasized Turkey’s readiness to support Somalia’s labor sector and contribute to its human capital development.

He praised Somalia’s efforts in institutional reform and reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to standing alongside Somalia as a development partner.

A New Chapter in Somalia–Turkey Labor Relations

This engagement between the two ministers underscores the strong diplomatic and developmental ties between Somalia and Turkey. Over the past decade, Turkey has played a vital role in Somalia’s reconstruction efforts through investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and governance.

The new labor cooperation framework is expected to further solidify this relationship by creating tangible benefits for Somali workers and advancing the broader goal of economic stability and prosperity in the Horn of Africa.

Doha (KAAB TV) – In the wake of a recent Israeli attack on Doha, the capital of Qatar, leaders from across the Islamic and Arab world are gathering today for an emergency summit aimed at issuing a joint condemnation and formulating a united response.

The high-level meeting is being held in Doha, just days after the city was reportedly targeted in a military assault by Israel—a move that has sparked widespread outrage and condemnation throughout the Arab and Muslim world.

The summit is expected to focus on diplomatic, political, and strategic actions that member nations may pursue collectively if further acts of aggression are carried out.

One of the key participants in this emergency meeting is the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. Somalia has strongly denounced the attack, expressing unwavering support for the Qatari government and the people of Doha.

In an official statement, Somalia affirmed its solidarity with Qatar, emphasizing the importance of unity among Muslim nations in the face of foreign aggression.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is also scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with senior Qatari officials, as well as with leaders of other member states of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

These meetings will likely address both the immediate crisis and broader issues concerning regional security, cooperation, and collective defense.

Today’s summit represents a significant moment of solidarity among Muslim and Arab nations, as they seek to present a unified front against actions that threaten the sovereignty and stability of any member state.

DOHA (KAAB TV) – Tensions escalated in the Middle East following an Israeli airstrike in the Qatari capital of Doha, reportedly targeting the offices of the political wing of the Palestinian organization Hamas.

According to initial reports, the strike was aimed at a facility believed to house senior Hamas political figures. The attack is said to have narrowly missed key leaders, including Khalil al-Hayya and Zaher Jabarin, who are both prominent members of Hamas’s political bureau. Local sources confirm that both men survived the incident.

The Qatari government swiftly condemned the strike. In an official statement, Majed Al Ansari, spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, described the attack as a “blatant violation of international law” and a threat to the stability of the region.

“Qatar has consistently prioritized the safety and security of its citizens and residents. This reckless act undermines not only our sovereignty but also the broader peace and security of the Middle East,” said Al Ansari during a press briefing in Doha.

Qatar has long served as a diplomatic channel in the region and has hosted various factions for talks, including members of Hamas’s political leadership. The strike raises concerns about the future of Qatar’s role as a neutral mediator in the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

This is not the first time Israel has carried out cross-border military operations targeting what it claims are terrorist-affiliated groups operating in neighboring countries. Similar strikes have been reported in nations such as Syria, Lebanon, Iran, and now, increasingly, in the Gulf region. However, a direct strike on Qatari soil represents a significant escalation and could have far-reaching diplomatic repercussions.

As of now, Israeli authorities have not issued an official statement confirming or denying involvement in the attack.

Further developments are expected as regional leaders react to the incident and diplomatic channels are activated in an attempt to prevent further escalation.

DOHA (Kaab TV) — Iran launched a missile attack late last night on the Al-Udeid Air Base, the largest U.S. military installation in the Middle East, located in Qatar. Tehran described the strike as retaliation for a U.S. bombing of three facilities allegedly connected to its nuclear program over the weekend.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing missiles overhead as they flew across the capital, while video footage captured bright flashes in the night sky as Qatari and U.S. air defense systems attempted to intercept the incoming projectiles.

According to Iranian state media and later confirmed by military sources, 14 missiles were fired. Thirteen were intercepted or detonated midair, but one is reported to have struck the base. No casualties have been reported as of yet.

“This attack is a direct response to American aggression against our sovereign nuclear infrastructure,” read a statement from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the elite branch of the Iranian military. “U.S. bases in the region represent vulnerability, not power.”

The IRGC added that Iran “will not remain silent in the face of aggression.”

The missile strike represents a significant escalation in a rapidly intensifying conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. Tensions in the region have surged over recent days amid concerns about broader regional destabilization.

The Al-Udeid base, operational since 2000, serves as a critical hub for U.S. air operations in the region and houses thousands of American personnel.

U.S. President Donald Trump, responding to the strike, dismissed it as “weak” and reiterated that no American personnel were harmed. He reiterated his preference for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict but warned Iran against further provocations.

Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the strike as a “sudden and serious violation” of Qatari sovereignty. A spokesperson noted that Qatar has long warned of the risks associated with escalating military tensions in the region, particularly in relation to the ongoing war involving Israel.

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, also addressed the situation, stating on social media: “Our response did not seek to harm anyone, but we will never remain passive in the face of aggression. We oppress no one, and we will not allow ourselves to be oppressed.”

As of now, the international community is closely monitoring the situation, with growing calls for restraint amid fears of broader military confrontation.
