Mogadishu (Kaab TV) – Calm has been restored this morning in the Warlaliska neighborhood of the Deyniile District, following heavy clashes that erupted yesterday afternoon and continued into the evening between government forces and local residents.

The fighting reportedly broke out after government troops were accused of attempting to demolish civilian homes in the area, an action that sparked strong anger and immediate resistance from residents.

According to eyewitnesses, security forces entered the neighborhood in connection with an operation targeting the demolition of houses. However, residents strongly opposed the move and took up arms to defend their homes and property. This confrontation escalated into intense gunfire within the neighborhood, causing widespread fear and panic among civilians.

The clashes, which lasted for several hours, were described as heavy, with continuous gunfire and explosions heard across parts of the Mogadishu district.

Many civilians were reportedly displaced from their homes during the fighting, while local businesses and transportation activities came to a temporary standstill.

Reports confirm that at least four government soldiers and three civilians were killed in the violence. Among the civilian casualties was a young child.

The government forces ultimately failed to carry out the planned demolition operation after facing strong resistance from the local community. The incident has further heightened concerns over ongoing land disputes and forced evictions in Mogadishu.

Meanwhile, a delegation of Members of Parliament and security officials, largely from the Murusade clan, has arrived in the area in an effort to calm the situation and mediate the dispute. The delegation is led by MPs Jacfar and Faaiso Jayte, accompanied by security officers and local elders.

The team is expected to hold meetings with residents and government representatives to seek a peaceful resolution, prevent further violence in the area, and address public grievances related to house demolitions.

Although the situation is currently calm, there remains a sense of fear and heightened alertness among residents.
