Aalimiskaad (KAAB TV) – Daesh militants launched a major assault this morning on Puntland defense forces stationed at the Afka Uraar stream in the Calmiskaad mountains, located in the Bari region. The attack began with suicide bombings and was followed by a direct assault on the military base.

According to reports, the Puntland forces successfully repelled the attack. Multiple Daesh fighters were killed during the fighting, including several foreign members of the group. Some of the deceased militants have reportedly been identified and their photos circulated by the group itself on platforms like Telegram.

Aalimiskaad (KAAB TV) – The Puntland Defense Forces today visited the locations where the bodies of Daesh members were found, who had been killed by heavy airstrikes in the last few hours. The airstrikes took place in the Miraale stream area within the Aalimiskaad mountains.

According to reports from the Puntland Defense Forces, troops were deployed to the sites that had been heavily targeted to recover the bodies of Daesh members, most of whom were foreigners.

In addition to the bodies, military officers confirmed that they discovered drones used by Daesh for bombings, as well as explosives and other materials the group had stored in the area.

Aalimiskaad (KAAB TV) – The defense forces of Puntland are engaged in intense combat with Somali and foreign fighters from the Daesh group, who have established significant positions in parts of the Calmiskaad mountains, located in the eastern region of the state.

During the ongoing battle, Puntland forces have reported the killing of numerous Daesh fighters, including both Somali nationals and foreign militants. Among the casualties are individuals believed to be high-ranking officers within the group.

Abdi Hirsi Ali Qarjab, the security advisor to the President of Puntland, revealed that most of the Daesh fighters in the Calmiskaad mountains are foreigners, with only a small number of Somalis involved in the conflict. He emphasized that the majority of those killed in the battle were non-Somali nationals.

“All of those fighting in the mountains are foreigners, who have come to harm the people of Puntland. They are wanted terrorists from around the world. So far, the casualties on our side have predominantly been foreign fighters, including Arabs and Africans. Only two Somali fighters have been killed among those who were supporting them,” said Qarjab.

Puntland forces have also publicly displayed the bodies of many Daesh fighters slain in the Bari region’s mountainous terrain, with most of the deceased being foreigners, particularly from various Arab countries.

Aalimiskaad (KAAB TV) – Puntland Defense Forces (PDF) are actively working to end the spread of the Daesh group in the Aalimiskaad mountains, having surrounded several areas that were previously controlled by the terrorists.

Major General Mohamed Adan Jama (Degelle), the commander of the Puntland Defense Forces, confirmed that the operation against Daesh is progressing well, highlighting the success of the most recent military campaign.

“Operation Hilaac, led by the General Command to capture the Miirale well—the last stronghold of the remaining Daesh terrorists—was executed as planned. Thankfully, all the objectives set out were accomplished,” said Major General Degelle.

Furthermore, the commander stated that Puntland forces had destroyed the Daesh group’s defenses in the Elka Mirale area. He reported the killing of numerous militants, as well as the complete seizure of the territory.

“All the defensive positions around the Miirale well were eliminated. We killed over 35 fighters associated with the terrorist group, and all their positions have now been taken over by the Puntland Defense Forces,” said Degelle.

Major General Degelle also confirmed that the third phase of the operation is nearing completion. He expressed confidence that the operation will conclude successfully within the next ten days, with the remaining Daesh fighters being pushed further out of the region.

Puntland Government Calls on Daesh Fighters to Surrender Amid Ongoing Conflict

Aalmiskaad (KAAB TV) – The Puntland government has urged senior members of the Daesh group currently engaged in combat in the Calmiskaad mountains to surrender and accept the amnesty offered by President Said Deni. This amnesty is extended to those who abandon extremist ideologies and the violent conflict.

General Adan Abdi Hashi, Commander-in-Chief of the Puntland Defense Forces, stationed on the frontlines of the battle, also appealed to the Daesh fighters to lay down their arms and surrender to the Puntland army.

In particular, General Adan Abdi directed a message to Abdirahman Fahiye Isse, a prominent Daesh leader, urging him to take advantage of President Deni’s amnesty. He warned that failure to do so would result in severe consequences from the Puntland military.

“Abdirahman Fahiye, the man known as Abdul Qadir Mu’min, I have no advice for you, nor do I have any strength left. Stop manipulating the youth from Balade to Tasjiic. You are leading them to destruction,” General Adan Abdi stated.

He continued, “Abdirahman, know that we will punish you. The people you are hiding know the truth. Don’t sacrifice the young men of your family. You will face the consequences.”

Puntland Defense Forces Capture Daesh Stronghold in Buqa-Aleed

Aalimiskaad (KAAB TV) – The Puntland Defense Forces have successfully surrounded and seized key areas and commands previously controlled by the Daesh group in recent hours.

According to the Puntland Defense Forces’ command, they have taken control of Daesh’s command center in Buqa-Aleed, where they discovered concrete buildings used as shelters by some of the group’s officers.

In addition to seizing the area, the Puntland forces also destroyed Daesh vehicles, including a large and a small one, before removing them from the location. The troops also discovered administrative offices and concrete structures built on the hills by the group.

“In Buqa-Aleed, the army uncovered concrete houses built into the mountain, along with administrative and meeting offices. Two vehicles, a large one and a small one, were burned, along with other materials,” stated a report from Puntland’s Counter-Terrorism Operation Office.

As part of the third phase of their ongoing war against Daesh, Puntland forces are continuing to make significant progress, aiming to capture more of the group’s critical commands and strategic locations.
