MOGADISHU (Kaab TV) – The Swedish government is expected to deport 28 Somalis to Mogadishu tomorrow, Monday, Kaab TV can report.
They were secretly put on a plane out of Sweden.
According to Somali MP Abdullahi Hashi Abiib, the 28 individuals are Somali nationals who hold Swedish residency papers but have committed crimes in Sweden.
The MP stated that among them is one person convicted of child sexual abuse.
“The Somali people must know the truth: corrupt officials – Ahmed Dahir, and Kamal Gutale the Office of the Prime Minister, and Yahya Hagi “De Facto” Director General of Immigration and Citizenship – have sold our sovereignty to the EU and UK through a secret “Special Case” deal, pocketing $45,000 per deported criminal,” MP Abib wrote.
“For the past six months, they have been flying in rapists, pedophiles, and gang leaders from Europe and releasing them into Mogadishu.”
The plane carrying the deportees is expected to arrive at Aden Adde International Airport at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow, Monday.
The aircraft reportedly has no passenger manifest.
MP Abiib said Somalia has now become a dumping ground for criminals deported from around the world.
“This is not [a lawful] immigration – it is bribery, treason, and human trafficking,” he said, strongly criticizing President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s government.
The MP called for the immediate cancellation of the flight, the arrest of all corrupt officials involved, and a stop to Europe’s plan to use Somalia as a dumping site for criminals.
Recently, Kaab TV learned that Switzerland and Finland pressured Somalia to accept the return of Somali nationals convicted of crimes and serving prison sentences in those countries.
Finland, for its part, has suspended its development aid to Somalia until the Somali government agrees to receive the deportees.
Switzerland also requested earlier this year that three Somali nationals imprisoned there be deported to Mogadishu, although sources close to Somalia’s Ministry of Security told Kaab TV that the government rejected that request.
