MOGADISHU (Kaab TV) – The U.S. Deputy Secretary of Health, Jim O’Neill, has confirmed that Somalia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations is affiliated with a healthcare company in Ohio, which has previously been involved in scandals related to the embezzlement of funds from the U.S. government.
The Deputy Secretary noted that further details regarding the allegations against Somalia’s UN Representative will be released.
Abukar Baalle has been facing pressure and investigations from the United States ever since he opposed the recognition of Somaliland. Recently, the world’s richest person, Elon Musk, called for the UN to remove Somalia’s Representative.
The ongoing investigation concerns the alleged embezzlement of U.S. government funds, which could lead to a court case.
