Mogadishu (KAAB TV) – Somalia is working hard to add Ethiopia to the allocation of the African Union forces in the new mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), according to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Omar Balcad.
Balcad confirmed that the government of Somalia has already allocated troops to be sent to the mission and presented the countries that are expected to participate. However, he explained that Ethiopia’s participation is uncertain as the government is engaged in resolving issues related to the distribution of forces.
“The biggest obstacle that prevented Ethiopia’s involvement in Aussom was related to the MOU agreement. That issue has been resolved. The challenge now is that most of the military allocations have already been allocated. There is little left to distribute. we are here. actively working to find a solution,” said Balcad.
