Mogadishu (KAAB TV) – The government of Somalia has confirmed that the financial support it receives from the United States remains unchanged, specifically in areas of security, development, and humanitarian efforts.
Somalia’s Finance Minister announced that the new U.S. administration has agreed to continue the financial aid previously provided to Somalia.
This comes after the administration of former President Donald Trump had declared the suspension of aid to several countries, including Somalia, citing concerns over corruption in the handling of donations intended to support impoverished populations.
Minister Bihi Iman Cige recently informed parliament that the Somali government (DF) is now responsible for managing the financial burden that was previously covered by the U.S., which amounted to approximately 1.5 million dollars annually.
