Mogadishu (Kaab TV) – The Somali government has strongly condemned Somaliland’s reported decision to open an embassy in the city of Jerusalem, home to the sacred Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In a statement Somalia’s ministry of foreign Affairs stated that the move carries no legal legitimacy or legal effect and described it as an unacceptable provocative act that undermines the sentiments and positions of Arab countries and the wider Islamic world.
Somalia reaffirmed its opposition to any unilateral actions that undermine the legitimacy and sovereignty of the Somali state or violate international law and resolutions issued by regional and international organizations.
The Somali government also emphasized its commitment to preserving the country’s unity, independence, territorial integrity, and national sovereignty.
