Mogadishu (Kaab TV) – The Somali government has reaffirmed its strong and principled support for the sovereignty, unity, security, stability, and territorial integrity of the sisterly Republic of Yemen, rejecting any attempts or interventions that threaten its unity or undermine its constitutional legitimacy and national institutions.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated its full support for Yemen’s internationally recognized government, emphasizing the importance of peaceful, Yemeni-led political solutions.
“Somalia supports a Yemeni-led political process that safeguards state sovereignty and meets the aspirations of the brotherly Yemeni people for security, stability, and development,” the statement said.
The Federal Republic of Somalia also praised the crucial role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting Yemen’s security and stability, as well as broader regional peace. The statement highlighted Riyadh’s ongoing political, diplomatic, and humanitarian efforts to end the conflict, alleviate human suffering, and advance a comprehensive peace process in line with regional and international frameworks.
Somalia recognized the efforts of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, noting its role in protecting Yemen’s state institutions, preserving its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and supporting the peace process in accordance with international legitimacy.
The Somali government expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in promoting regional security and stability, reaffirming its rejection of any threats to the Kingdom’s safety, international maritime navigation, or regional peace.
The statement emphasized that Yemen’s security and stability are vital to safeguarding the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Horn of Africa.
Finally, Somalia called on the international community to continue backing efforts to achieve a comprehensive and lasting political solution that ends the conflict, restores Yemen’s security and stability, and reinforces its role within the Arab world and the region.
