Somalia and United Arab Emirates agree military, security cooperation

Mogadishu (Kaab TV) – Somalia Council of Ministers approved an agreement on Military, Security between Somalia and United Arab Emirates.

The Council directly voted in favor of this agreement between the Governments of Somalia & the United Arab Emirates, and approved the Maritime Transport Act submitted by the Ministry of Ports and Maritime Transport, the Somali Fisheries Development and Management Bill submitted by the Ministry of Fisheries and Blue Resources.

This comes two weeks after the cabinet rejected a military agreement between the two countries. Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre has said the government will soon begin implementation of the agreement to utilize for the enhancement of the security and cooperation between Mogadishu and Abu Dhabi.

The government of the United Arab Emirates has already trained special forces in Somalia, provided them with weapons, vehicles, equipment and other things they needed.
