Cairo (Kaab TV) – The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who is currently in Cairo, is scheduled to meet with his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to discuss Red Sea security, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, and strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

The presidents of Somalia and Egypt are also expected to discuss accelerating previously signed agreements, most of which focus on security cooperation, according to various sources.

The Federal Government of Somalia stated that it is prioritizing cooperation with countries that share key maritime trade routes in order to prevent any potential security threats.

Egypt is among the African countries that have made significant progress in military development. The country is also part of the African Union mission (AUSSOM), although its forces have not yet been deployed inside Somalia.
