Mandera (KAAB TV) – A report from the Kenyan police has revealed that Somali security and intelligence forces have killed and wounded Kenyan army officers at the border between the two countries, particularly near the towns of Mandera and Baladhawo.
The Kenyan police issued a statement confirming that NISA (National Intelligence and Security Agency) forces launched an attack on five Kenyan army sergeants at the Kenyan-Somali border. One sergeant was killed, and another was injured in the assault.
“One officer was shot in the stomach and died, while another was shot in the left hand. The attack, which occurred on Friday, was carried out by NISA troops,” the statement from the Kenyan police said.
Reports suggest that the NISA forces responsible for the attack were allegedly enraged by the imprisonment of their relatives in Mandera, accusing the Kenyan police of committing a crime.
As of now, the Somali government, including NISA officials, has yet to comment on the accusations made by the Kenyan government regarding the attack on the Kenyan officers.
