The Somali National Army's Lightning Commando successfully executed a planned operation in the Ali Gaduud Mosque district
Masaajid Aligadud (KAAB TV) – The Somali National Army’s Lightning Commando successfully executed a planned operation in the Ali Gaduud Mosque district, located in the Middle Shabelle region. This operation targeted areas where Al-Shabaab militants were believed to be stationed, particularly in the district center and nearby regions.
The coordinated operation involved both airstrikes, in collaboration with international partners and CXDS, as well as ground assaults. These efforts led to the death of more than 15 Al-Shabaab militants. Additionally, three vehicles were destroyed, two of which were military vehicles, while the third was an ambulance being repurposed for militant activities, as reported by the Danab army.
In a significant development, Bashir Ahmed Dhukhul, also known as Bashir Aadle, a key leader of Al-Shabaab in the Middle Shabelle region, was killed during the operation. Bashir Aadle was recognized as one of the main figures behind the spread of extremist ideologies in the region, and his death represents a major blow to Al-Shabaab’s leadership.
A statement from the Danab army highlighted the precision and skill of the operation, stating that the terrorists, after being targeted, fled their hideouts, leaving behind many casualties. The success of this operation is seen as a significant setback to Al-Shabaab’s activities in the region.
