Somali-British Man Arrested After Vehicle Hits Pedestrians in West London

LONDON (Kaab TV) A 34-year-old British man of Somali origin has been arrested after a vehicle struck several pedestrians in the Ealing Broadway area of west London, leaving five people injured, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Police said the incident occurred in the busy Ealing Broadway district, where the driver allegedly hit pedestrians before fleeing the scene. Emergency services responded quickly, and all five victims were taken to hospital with injuries that authorities described as non-life-threatening.

Following a search, officers located and arrested the suspect in the Grange Park area a short time after the incident. He is currently being held on suspicion of dangerous driving and attempted murder while detectives continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said investigators are examining all possible motives behind the incident. However, authorities emphasized that, based on the evidence available so far, the case is not being treated as an act of terrorism.

Police have appealed to witnesses and anyone with video footage or information related to the incident to come forward as investigators work to establish exactly what happened.

The incident comes amid ongoing public debate in the United Kingdom over immigration and crime, following a series of high-profile violent incidents that have intensified discussions about public safety, border controls, and the country’s immigration policies.

Officials, however, have not indicated that the suspect’s background has any confirmed connection to the motive behind the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
