|

Mogadishu (KAAB TV) — In preparation for the 2025 Hajj, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has temporarily suspended the issuance of visas to citizens from 14 countries, including Iran, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Somalia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Libya, and Sudan.

This decision is part of broader efforts to enhance security and manage crowds during the annual pilgrimage, which draws millions of Muslims from around the world.

According to the directive, citizens of the affected countries will not be eligible for Umrah or visit visas during the Hajj season. Authorities have also reiterated that those who overstay their visas in the Kingdom face severe consequences, including hefty fines, imprisonment, and deportation.

Saudi officials are urging all visitors to strictly adhere to immigration laws, warning that any violations will be met with strict enforcement measures.

The new restrictions reflect Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety, organization, and success of this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.
