Mogadishu (KAAB TV) – As the final preparations for the annual Hajj pilgrimage are underway, the Saudi Arabian government has significantly bolstered security measures in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.
According to the Saudi Ministry of Interior, additional checkpoints for both pedestrians and vehicles have been established throughout Makkah. These checkpoints are equipped with advanced technology, including modern surveillance tools, police forces, and traffic monitoring systems.
Authorities have intensified enforcement against unauthorized vehicles attempting to enter the sacred areas. Drivers without official permits issued for Hajj-related services have been warned that legal action will be taken if they are found violating the access regulations.
Security forces are also utilizing drones and surveillance cameras to maintain round-the-clock monitoring of movement within and around Makkah.
The Saudi Minister of Interior emphasized that the primary objective of these enhanced security efforts is to preserve the sanctity of the holy sites and ensure a safe and peaceful environment for all pilgrims.
Each year, Saudi Arabia welcomes over two million pilgrims from around the world. The kingdom continues to invest in advanced systems and infrastructure to maintain the safety and well-being of those performing Hajj.
