Kalogi (Kaab TV) – The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) emergency response unit has been accused of carrying out an airstrike targeting a children’s educational center located in the city of Kalogi in the Kordofan region, formerly known as Central Sudan. The attack killed 50 people, 33 of whom were children.
Multiple sources reported that the attack was carried out using unmanned aerial drones. Various officials from health and human-rights organizations described the assault as deliberate.
The RSF, which receives support from the United Arab Emirates, has previously faced serious criticism for the direct targeting carried out by one of its officers, who executed a mass shooting against civilians in the city of Al-Fashir. Although the officer was later arrested, the condemnation has not subsided.
Human rights organizations stated that major violations have occurred in Sudan since April 2023, coinciding with the outbreak of direct conflict between the formerly allied military forces who later split and aligned with the two rival generals vying for power.
