Six Robbery Suspects Arrested in Deynile

Security forces in Mogadishu’s Daynile district have intensified operations targeting criminal gangs responsible for robberies and other security-related offenses, arresting six suspects accused of carrying out armed robberies and intimidating residents in several neighborhoods.

According to security officials, three of the suspects were apprehended during a rapid security operation conducted across the district.

Two of the men, who were allegedly armed with knives, were arrested in the Halgan neighborhood, while a third suspect carrying a firearm was captured in the Kurdamac area.

Authorities said the suspects were caught while allegedly carrying out robbery operations targeting local residents.

In a separate overnight operation in the Kurdamac neighborhood, security forces arrested three additional young men accused of using knives to rob civilians and terrorize members of the public.

Officials said the suspects had been linked to a series of criminal activities that had caused fear and insecurity among residents.

The operations are part of an ongoing campaign to improve security in Daynile district, with police increasing patrols, stop-and-search operations, and intelligence-led raids aimed at dismantling criminal networks operating in the area.

District officials said the suspects will be handed over to investigative and judicial authorities for further questioning and legal proceedings.

Investigators are also working to determine whether those arrested are connected to other unsolved robbery cases or broader criminal networks operating in Mogadishu.

The latest arrests come after Daynile District Commissioner Abdirahman Moallin Hussein directed security agencies to accelerate operations against criminal gangs and take firm action against individuals involved in robbery, intimidation, and other activities threatening public safety.

The district administration has also urged residents to continue cooperating with security forces by reporting suspicious individuals and criminal activities.

Officials said public cooperation remains essential to strengthening security, preventing crime, and ensuring the safety of communities across the district.
